Security can be defined as the state of being 'free' from danger or injury while independence 'freedom' from control or others' influence. Hence, I think security and freedom should roll in tandem like two wheels on a cart, not to mention security and independence. Dozens of years ago, my country mainly put a more focus on the national security rather than ensuring personal freedom/independence. Nowadays, although the government tries to provide the people with more freedom/independence, the significance of the national security is being overlooked as we have witnessed it over the THAAD issue. If I make a plan to take a trip abroad with my family, I should consider both my family's security and each member's diverse desire regarded as freedom during the trip. The travel around the world without securing any security could lead us in danger and trouble. Whenever I make a decision, I'd like to simultaneously consider the two key factors : security and freedom/independence.
