It is true that the severe competitiveness has led Korea to such a fast growth in a short period. However, too much competition has caused many unhealthy and undesirable problems in our community. Why do young people have to study too much hard in Korea? First of all, there are still some traditional consensus in the country regarding the social status and class, such as scholars, farmers, manufacturers and merchants. Furthermore, highly educated people and graduates from prestigious schools have been paid more money and respect unfairly compared to others. Therefore, most parents have been obsessed by the education fever without much consideration of youths' interests and aptitudes. Fortunately, new trends have gradually spread among the new generation. They tend not to hesitate choosing some jobs such as chefs, bakers, farmers, and so on. The old generation have to get rid of some prejudice about jobs and social standings, and root out the unfairness of payment by academic career.
