I think there exist a lot of Jean Valjeans of Les Miserables today. Jean Valjean has been in jail for 19 years for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. However, I can't agree that these kinds of people are the best ones to talk to teenagers about the dangers of committing a crime. Exposing youths to the former prisoners may be a dangerous idea. Beside this, we can come up with better ways to teach them about crimes. As Les Miserables means the miserable, we may learn most prisoners must be originally poor and miserable people if we run after what made them committed a crime. In some respects, our community might have made them a criminal. We might not have been interested
