Why do parents give an allowance for their children?
Parents want children to improve money management skill and stop pestering them to buy something.
I think parents should give children an allowance as a reward for completing chores or when they have behaved properly.
Why should parents do like this?
Parents should promise their children how much money per a chore or a proper behavior will be paid for them.
Children are going to count how much money they need in the next week or month.
And they will do extra chores very hard.
By doing this, children may develop and learn how to manage their money.
What is more, they may perceive the value of hard work to earn money.
I've heard that some parents sign on the children's reports in which include how many chores they completed and pay them according to the reports.
If parents give children a weekly or monthly allowance regardless of their behavior, children could not acquire any lessons as mentioned above.
Today's mindset of parents reflects tomorrow's mindset of their children.
