We need both accumulated and non-accumulated knowledge about how we should live, think and behave. Accumulated understanding means science-related know-how, while non-accumulated one implies humanities-related know-how. The former has been flying like a rocket, while the latter walking since human beings were created. While the older generations should keep up with the former, the younger generations learn the latter from the older ones. I sometimes think, "I should have behaved this way and chosen that way at the time." That is why we absolutely need mentors' advice in our life. Assuming that there is a fruit farm, an adult-married son decided to succeed his father's business. He should learn a lot of accumulated know-how from his father. However, he couldn't be successful in his business without his own attempt , such as new marketing and farming. A Chinese famous four- character idiom says, "Review the old and learn the new."
