I've never felt any physical threats or robberies in my life living in Korea. However, there could be crimes such as extortion and mugging on the streets in residential areas where a lot of people from China are living collectively in Seoul. When I was in foreign countries, I experienced perceiving some threats several times. In LA, I saw some people locked the car using an iron rod attached on the top of the steering wheel. In Vancouver, many people brought a front wheel of bicycle inside the office because thieves could take it out of the main body. In Thailand, a guide ripped my wife and me off, when he led us to a special restaurant. In Washington DC, I witnessed that a lot of stores closed the door very early in the afternoon because of robberies. We'd better be aware of any crowding or jostling while traveling in foreign cities. We should be alert to overly friendly locals who may have criminal intentions. On top of that, we should avoid some crime-ridden districts and shouldn't let us fool around until late at night.

Whoa, I am sad to know that foreigners are the perpetrators of crime in your own country TT

However, I am impressed by the safety there~
