When I was a child, I used to see my mother stitch my socks under a dim kerosene lamp. However, nowadays those looks could be found just in aged photos. My father had put on his shoes for more than 10 years, with them repaired several times. Why do we prefer to throw damaged or used things away? To begin with, it's because our income has been increased and many goods' prices have become inexpensive compared to the past. Tons of cheap and quality products are pouring in, so we can get things very easily. Secondly, it's because most people are too busy to repair and use them again. We tend to think that it would be better off earning more instead of repairing and reusing something. Lastly, it's because we tend to follow some social preposterous trend which takes products for granted or lightly. Most people prefer to possess brand-new ones rather than used ones. On top of that, our society has been regarding consumption as a virtue. That is why I welcome that dozens of thrift shops have recently appeared in my hometown.

Sir [이름]^^

Sometimes I have held onto something just because of their emotional value, ha! ha!

Although I know it would just be gathering dirt, I keep it!

However, I discovered that the number of repair shops is decreasing, which clearly means that people are into new things, and we tend to discard stuff immediately.

See you tomorrow!
