To my knowledge, Einstein and Edison failed in school, but ended up being successful in life, aside from the question what is successful in life.
Generally speaking, most high school friends of mine who were good at studying tend to enjoy their affluent life.
However, as there is no rule without exceptions, even honor students in school could become backward ones in society and vice versa.
Why on earth do they happen?
First of all, school activities handle simple and personal matters, while social activities deal with complex and comprehensive things forcing to exert team spirit.
On top of that, studying needs pure and even naive attitudes, while the social life requires a lot of flexibility, quickness and creativity.
Lastly, studying can be accomplished by their own efforts, while social activities need to know how to utilize other people's capabilities as mine.
Then what is the most important thing to succeed in life?
We are all imperfect.
Therefore, we need God's help and mentors' advice from the initial stage of life.

There are a number of students fail in schools, but it does not mean that they will not be successful in life. I actually agree that failing in school, it is not end of life.

Therefore, they are not only ideal models, but they also prove that school is not only the key to success. There are some reasons why they are influential people in the world.
Interest is the foremost cause that most successful people have. It has made them feel enthusiastic and consistent when they work. By ways of conclusion, it cannot be denied that success depends on individual. Specific purpose, enthusiasm and non-stops efforts are decisive factors which make people successful in their life.Whether they drop out of school or not, people can become better than ever before.
