Regardless of age, should teenagers who commit major crimes receive adult punishment?
Even though the number of crimes committed by youngsters is increasing, I can't agree with the idea.
As far as I'm concerned, the way we deal with adolescents and adults in crime should be different.
First of all, unlike adult crimes, most teenager crimes could be derived from the wrongdoings of their family and society.
So the causes why juveniles commit major crimes should be attributed to loss and instability of home and social inhospitality.
On top of that, teenagers are not mentally mature.
Youngsters might neither have an evident intent nor a clear understanding for their crimes.
We have to acknowledge that most adolescents lack the cognitive ability to plan and execute a harmful activity.
Lastly, youngsters' infinite potential capability should be focused and the possibility of their rehabilitation and rectification should deeply be considered.
Youths are the future of our old generation.
If we see them with our eyes loving and expecting what to do in the future, we may forgive them, not their crimes.
In conclusion, the trial and punishment for teenagers and adults should be separate.
