In today's question, it seems that the word wise has different meaning with smart. I think the difference between smart and wise can explain what makes a person wise. I personally think wise people are smart and also can see so called big picture. In other words, wise people can see not only one fact but also other related situations. For example, a smart manager will recall what he/she learned in business classes in college when he/she confronts problem with an employee. However if the manager is not only smart but also wise, he/she will observe other factors like relationship with coworkers. Sometimes, smart people and wise people can make different decisions and the decision made by wise people would be seen inefficient. When someone considers many things, sometimes it means the solution is effective in a long term. I think wise people usually consider other people's well being and give a long term solution because they can care many things at once.
