I personally prefer more practical rewards to a title of being the first. I agree that a person who tried to do thing for the first time has a courage and adventurous spirit. It's not easy to try something which people haven't done it before. I think avoiding uncertainty is a natural reaction because if we follow the proven way, we can avoid the worst scenario. Therefore not following the previous road but making a new road is quite a brave thing. However I think people who tried a new things for the first time often failed in real life. The next person who watched the previous failure can have chance to improve things and that person often makes bigger success. Of course if a person who tried a whole new thing doesn't fail, that person would gain a huge success. Because that person can be a pioneer and get every chance in blue ocean. However I still think people who watched previous challenges have more chance to succeed and I think people who practically succeed are great.
