Is the use of cell phones reducing face-to-face communication among people?
I think the use of cell phones definitely affects face-to-face communication among people. But, I don't think that reduces it. I can have a talk with somebody on the phone instead of meeting him. However, when we need to talk about something important than we usually have a meeting in real world. And cell phone technology makes it easier for us to meet than ever. For example, in the past, if something happened on my way to see someone and I couldn't get there, we don't have many ways to contact that person. But these days I can easily adjust the schedule by calling him directly.
