Since humans had made up the society, they've tended to live with each others. Humans don't have sharp nails and teeth. So they had to be got together because they had to survive against savage beasts. That's the basic reason why they made cities. And general people prefer to live in a good environment. Thus, they who wanted to live in a better place looked for some locations. It's ended up the 4 ancient civilizations by these reasons.
We can find the reasons why people are moving to the urban areas from this factors. First, they want to live in a better place, and cities are the place. Then the good cities get bigger and bigger because people have gathered there. Second, bigger cities have more facilities. Third, they have more job opportunities.
