HOMEWORK: [WISH vs. HOPE] WISH is to express that something is impossible (not likely) to happen. HOPE is to express that something is very possible to happen. 1. I wish that I had never met her. 2. Most girls hope they could meet a sensitive hunk, with brains. 3. I hope that he will succeed. 4. I hope someone had told me the meeting was canceled. 5. I wish you wouldn\'t say things like that. *teacher! but , there is song \"we wish you a merry christmas. why didn\'t use \"we hope you a merry christmas.

Good evening, Hailey! ^-^

Songs don\'t have to be grammatically correct because they\'re like poems that use lots of idioms and figures of speech.

Also, wish also means desire so the singer desires a merry or happy celebration for all listeners.

We can discuss this later in class.
