So, they insist that students should learn subjects that are more helpful for modern life rather than history. They think historical information cannot be applied to modern society. Because world is changing every moment. According to their opinion, we should learn about new things and prepare for upcoming future. It will be more important than learning old-fashioned study.
However, I think learning history is very important for our life. Because history provide insight to understand and develop our modern society. We can also learn about wisdom of our ancestors. Sometimes, there is painful history. But we can reflect on it. We will become intellectually mature by studying history. Therefore, I emphasize that history education is necessary.
