I think the biggest reason why people celebrate Thanksgiving Day is that the culture of the agrarian era was passed down. In the past, most people engaged in agriculture. Autumn was the time of harvesting the crops they have grown. So, they celebrated the success of harvest. Also, When Thanksgiving Day come, people can take a rest for a while and prepare for the winter. Spring and summer were the passionate time. So, people prefer to cool down during the holidays. There are three things that people are thankful for. First, they are thankful for their family, friend or someone who always love and support them. Secondly, they appreciate for the long holidays. They can take enough rest during the Thanksgiving Day. Lastly, they can be thankful for delicious food which is specially prepared for them. Those things make people happy and enjoy the holiday!
