In my personal opinion, It's an effective method to a child who made a mistake. He needs to have time for self-reflection during punishment. He must know his fault and reminds it not to do again. Parents have to hug him by love after punishment. I don't punish my children that's why my wife doesn't like it. She punishes our children only in my family. But I'm against physical punishment. It's a wrong method. I can't understand the phrase. "Step back and catch one"s berath" Please,explain me the meaning with examples.
