I agree children can learn something from TV, But I also think children can learn more things from play activities than watching TV.
Because you can only watch things from TV, that what TV shows to you, you can't change the TV contents.
But when play activities you can control the process depending on you own judgment and mood.
So for my children I will not encourage them to watch TV regularly or forbid them to watch at home.
I will just let them watch the television whenever they want.
also, whenever if they watch to much in one time, I will stop them watching more and let them to do some other plays.
