How can you help your community?

I do not know how to help my community since although I live in my region with many people, I am not aware of them and I believe that my a little help will not be helpful to my community. Instead, if I narrow the meaning of community down to the laboratory in my university, I seem to be able to talk about it. There are about 30 students in the lab. Going to the school almost every day, I meet them and have a meal with them almost every day. In other words, these friends are like my another family. There are several rules to keep peaceful lab life such as being quiet, not eating foods with smell, cleaning the lab every week. I believe that complying with these rules is the best way to help my community, the lab. In addition, advising other friends about the subject we have to study can be another help. I cannot do something great for my community, but I am sure that my small help will be helpful to my community. Therefore, I will effort to improve my little community.
