How can you tell when someone is not telling you the whole truth?
학생이 쓴 원문
We need to watch their body language. If someone is lying, they will avoid eye contact, their facial gestures may be limited and stiff. They may be pre-occupied with fidgety hand movements such as scratching behind their ears or scratching their nose. The actions of someone who is telling the truth will display the opposite traits. Someone who is telling the truth will want to talk about the subject hand. Someone who is lying will try to avoid the issue at hand by making a sarcastic comment or a joke---anything to change the subject. They may even talk around the subject adding unnecessary details to convince us. We can check up on the information that was told to us. This is the quickest and easiest way to find out if someone is telling the truth. We can ask them about it again later. Chances are if they are telling the truth their story will be the same the second time around. Liars often lie so much that they can barely keep up with their stories.
