I think the best way to encourage others to be kind is that I show them to be kind at first.
Because I get enlightened in that way.
At first, impressing other makes me change my mind and attitude in positive way.
And there is korean axiom that the praise makes the whale dance even. Also, most of people tend to act as he or she thinks and speaks.
For example, If I listen \"you\'re so cute!\' or \"you\'re so kind\", I act cutely and kindly unconsciously.
So, I often used to compliment others to guide them into what I want.
To confess my conscience, I often compliment my boyfriend for being friendly.
