How long do you think couples should know each other before they get married?

Although it varies from person to person and how often you meet, I personally think that it needs at least a year for couples to get to know each other well and to get married. Although I believe that it is possible for people to fall in love at first sight, getting married is different. Marriage is completely different from dating. For a short period of time, you can show only good aspects of you to your partner and behave in a way that your date likes. And you tend to see what you want to see from your loved one. It means that you are not objective about his/her behavior, thoughts, or even flaws when you are in love. For instance, the difference of his/her could be an appealing point when you are dating, but after getting married, it could become a major cause of conflicts. People cannot disguise themselves for a long time. People generally are forced to disclose his/her true self as time passes by. And as you spend more time, you will become more objective toward your loved one.
