Due to the rising number of applicants, transition to co-ed school will make application process more competitive. However, this would not affect applicants greatly because various women’s universities are facing pressure to strengthen their competitiveness from decreasing enrollment rate. According to the recent studies major women universities in Korea losing its’ applicants to the co-ed peers. The real swift impacting future applicants will be safeguarding misogyny and sexism prevalent in Korean society. Every year there has been a gender issue in co-ed universities in Korea. Each year there is verbal discrimination on social media. When I was attending university, Korean association student president is accused to be part of online community discriminating women. Since these issues are widespread, the protestors in Dongduk universities are refuse the transit to co-ed universities because they believe that feminist ideology cannot be protected in co-ed environment.
