I think it depends on the age.
From my experience, I didn\'t value family ties when I was a student.
I wanted to spend more time with my friends than family because I was able to share my serious private stories to friends in school.
However, as I get older, I don\'t have enough time to meet friends often because we have jobs each other, and we don\'t have a shared space anymore, such as school and academy, so I can\'t share my everything to them easily.
I realized the importance of family recently, so I tried to take part in family gatherings often.
Therefore, in my opinion, Koreans value family ties as they get older.
