John was born on a little farm back East. He was happy even though he lived a harsh life cultivating his field. One day he woke up by a heavy storm. When the storm let up he saw that his plantation was destroyed. He felt despondent and decided that he could no longer live on the farm. He had to move somewhere else. He leaved the farm and came to the city. The hustle and bustle of the city frightened John a lot, but he didn't want to go back to his farm. John's life in the city was very difficult. The only person he could count on was Tom, a distant relative, who was a very patient and understanding person and who tried to help John to get used to live in the city.
