Is the cost of living in Korea affordable?
Well, I think it is not quite affordable. For example the top makers (PRADA etc....) products prices are almost same as rich country. And some of them more expensive than rich countries. For food it is not affordable comparing with Germany. And I think most expensive one is the price of house. If you want to buy a house in Seoul you need a lot of money such as over 1 billion won. And It is very high competitiveness to buy a good house.
But there are some affordable service which is essential for the living. For example public transportation fare is very affordable. Especially taxi is quite affordable than rich country likes Germany, France, etc.... And I think that this can be one of the Koreans proud things hospital service price is affordable. Many disease can be supported by public assurance. If you compare it with US system, you can easily aware that Korea public assurance is quite affordable.
