If a woman wants an abortion, what rights does the father have?

United State Supreme Court recently overturned the precedents allowing abortion rights. Fathers’ right to abortion is more controversial in many Asian countries. Under Article 14 of the Mother and Child Health Law, women can receive an abortion after getting consent from the male. This law shows the conservative aspect of Korean society. It is difficult for me to address the father’s right to abortion because it will directly lead to their right in pregnancy which I have not experienced yet. However, I believe the father’s right should be limited to the guardian rather than a crucial decision-maker. I have read the cases where fathers disagree with abortion for reasons such as carrying on a family line, which is unrelated to the mothers’ health conditions. Since our country is influenced mainly by Confucian culture, there are remnants in society regarding male superiority. Accordingly, we should change the clause to consent from females and notify males.
