Is gardening a hobby for young or old people?

When it comes to gardening, I come up with large space, diverse beautiful flowers and trees, and people walking around with big scissors. The typical example of gardening I can think is the one in the Versailles Palace. However, there is a difference between the garden in the present and past. It is the size of gardening. These days, people raise a plant with putting it narrow place such as on their desk or near the windows. In other words, they garden small size plant unlike the past. There are many people who like raise a plant around me. Some people love to nurture flower, and others like to raise a cactus. Like this, there are variety of plants people raise. In that respect, I think that gardening can be hobby for anyone who likes plants. It is possible to raise a plant with less money, time, and strenght now since people don't need large space anymore, and they are just required to have the mind of loving plants and a little effort not to kill their plants.
