Is having a girl friend not good for studies ?

My parents always told me that "Don't make a girl friend when you are young" I didn't really know what the "young" exactly mean. I was 15 years old that time and was I young? Anyhow it looks like they just thought, love is not good for studies because If I have a girl friend, I couldn't concentrate on doing my studies. However I often see someone who scored very highly on exam but has a other sex friend.. Especially girls do. It seems that It's almost boys who prepare for the date and It's almost girls who just get out and meet her boyfriend when being called. Love and studying.. I think I can do both well If I meet someone who has a very similar background and taste as me.

Some people give more time for their love lives than in their studies so they fail to succeed in that field. Yet some, give more effort in studies than in their relationships so I guess, balance is really needed.  You have to learn how to manage your time, not only with your girlfriend nor with your studies but your family as well.
