Is it common in your country to give the cab driver a tip? If so, about how much do you give?

Korea is no tipping culture so it isn’t common to give a tip to someone. I wonder as if Filipinos give a tip. When my family took a trip to Hawaii, I didn’t know how much I should tip the people who served us. Since I was not familiar with giving a tip, I was uneasy when I had to pay more money than an amount. Anyway, when I take a taxi in Korea, I usually pay the fare by my credit card, but even I pay it by cash, I get the changes. I never say “Keep the change”. Only some people who don’t want to have small money, especially men, say “Keep the change” to a driver. If I tip someone, I would worry that I look like a show-off. In Korea, it is sufficient to just say “Thank you” or to be a regular customer for a good service.

Hello Michelle and the Kids!
Wow, your essay is almost flawless! Way to go! I guess in some countries, tipping is not common because the service fee is added to the bill in restaurants. But to answer your question, yes we do give tips in the Philippine but that is optional. It\'s up to the customer if he/she gives a tip. ^ ^
