I think it isn\'t always alright to lie to avoid punishment. While lying make to avoid a disadvantage in short-term, the probability losing the trust or causing bigger problems is high. Especially, becasue the belief is very important in personal relationship, only one lying can break up the relationship.
However, exceptionally, lying might be inevitable when my safty or other\'s protection is threated. For example, if you want to protect myself from threats or violance, it might be justified.
