Is it impossible to have a successful career and a happy family life?

Theoretically it’s possible to have a successful career and a happy family life. However, in reality, we have witnessed many cases that a person who had good reputation for his/her successful career had so many family problems and actually failed in managing family affairs. It is true that it is not easy for one to be successful at work and highly regarded socially without devoting his time and energy more to his job than to his/her family. In order to be successful at work, you should stand out from strong rivals and colleagues by working twice than others. You might need to work on the weekends too. You need to go to the office whenever necessary. It means that you have to give a priority to work than your family. Your wife might understand you and be cooperative, however, your children won’t be so generous if they are still young. They prefer to have a father who spend his time with their children rather than devoting to work. We need to maintain a balance between work and life.
