The rise of diversity led many people to embrace ethnicity and cultural differences in performing arts. However, there is issue of portraying different cultures respectfully. This is because every person has certain extent of stereotype in different cultures. And this is natural. Everyone has the stereotype of the culture that they do not have experience of. The problem is that many artists and directors portray these differences without validation. The primary example is Disney. To cater the need of political correctness, Disney started to do some cast changes and alter plots. In case of Snow White, they selected Latino actress and changed the plot to portray the Snow White as more progressive and independent character. However, in most cases they face with criticism of stereotype when leading male actors are always a white. I believe portraying racial and cultural diversity is difficult if the production crews are stereotypical and lacks experience.
