In my opinion, it is not typical to greet strangers in my country.
If I greet a stranger in the street, he or she might be think like \"Who is she? Do I know her? Hmm, I don\'t remember who she is\".
But, there are a few exceptions.
For example, I could say hello to helper or cashier in the market, bank or bookstore.
It is just manner to stranger.
Korean people don\'t smile to stranger generally.
I don\'t know the reason, but it is normal.
