my proud friend

A female friend of mine will be an Air Force officer this month. She is active and gets along with people easily She likes traveling abroad so she has been to UK and USA a year in each of those countries. We are friends from elementary school but we weren't close first. She was just another friend's friend. we could hit it off because we came and went to school together. From elementary school to high school, we were in same schools. It's been 14 years since we were friends. She used to say that she wanted to be in military. Finally, her dream came true. But she's not sure if her father allows her to go there. He is a kind of conservative and thinks the job isn't female thing. I hope him to allow her in the end.
