In spite of advantages mentioned above, the release of the trial information brings much severe disadvantages. Primarily, violation of privacy can arise because the media reveals all about personal details of both victims and criminals, even though they do not want their case to be well known. For example, one celebrity was sued by a woman insisting she had been sexually assaulted by him. While he was found innocent, he lost his fame due to unwanted opening of information. In addition, with the fact that the press reports only sensational and violent cases in order to grab the attention of audiences, a biased view as to people who broke a law can be formed. This undoubtedly results in adversities to many of lawbreakers who regret their mistakes and try to live honestly. To recapitulate, easy access to court and lower crime rates will be obtained, but a high level of invasion of privacy and prejudice are more critical in individual perspective.
