Q. Impact of media on society

I'm definitely sure that media affect on society in any ways regardless for good or for bad. Many people trust the contents of TV or newspaper because they think those kinds of media reflect the ideas or the thoughts of most people. People tend to follow the majority. Through this course, people form public opinion. Sometimes this public opinion seem to be manipulated by media. Therefore, we should be careful not to be cheated by the information manipulated by media, and should judge with critical thoughts.

As what I have read in an article, it says that the mass media is a double-edged sword which means that there are positive as well as negative influences of media. The mass media also remains to be an effective medium for communication, exchange of information, advertising, marketing, and in general, for expressing and sharing views, opinions, and ideas.
