Today, I read an article about Samsung in the class. In 1970s, Korea was poor and not much developed. We couldn’t have any technical base because of the Korean War. However, Samsung become one of the world-famous companies now. The article points out the success factors of Samsung. Thinking several years ahead and investing on R&D a lot is very important. In addition, this progress was driven by government especially Economic Development Board. Korean government built industrial parks and gave a lot of subsidy and grants. I can find many implications about the role of government. Also, I realize the importance of technical investment from this.
