Those anti-Atget critics usually make a conclusion by blaming it on John Szarkowski who was a curator in Photography Dept. MOMA, and also directed and drew a plan for Atget' photo exhibition. The distrust interrupting to evaluate Atget and his photos was originated from that time when Rosalind Krauss censured Szakowski who highly evaluated Atget. And it happened a longtime ago, however, the important meaning and value of Atget's photo-works are still being covered by those kind of distrust. It is difficult to know what kind of interests is behind that doubtful situation.
