Should boys and girls be treated differently on the part of the parents?

Theoretically, we shouldn’t treat our boys and girls differently. Gender inequality is still prevalent in our society and part of the reason is because we consciously or unconsciously taught and raised our children to have them form a sexism. We often choose pink shoes and clothes for our daughters and blue ones for sons. We buy our sons toy guns and cars, and dolls for our daughters. Some scholars insist that stereotype gender roles have been created socially, not resulted from genetic traits. Biologically, men and women are different. Men could be stronger than women. However, the physical differences do not restrict women to do certain jobs only. Many jobs that were once deemed to be only for specific gender in the past are now challenged by the other sex. Until recently, young women were not allowed to join the military academy. These days, the term of “genderless” appears in the fashion industry. Genderless means androgynous appeal, deviating from the fixed gender type.
