“SKY universities should lower admission standards to fill seats.” Do you agree or disagree? Why?

During admissions seasons, there is news that some departments at SKY universities are unable to fill seats. Usually, it happens in natural science and engineering departments, where most talent moves to medical schools for better job prospects and higher income. Therefore, there is an opinion to lower admission standards to fill seats. However, I totally disagree with this opinion for the following two reasons. First, there are admission standards to assess a student\'s suitability for enrolment in a course. Lowering admission standards would result in students failing to catch up with the course and, in the worst-case scenario, dropping out. Alongside this, lowering admission would not solve the problem. Since Korean universities allow students to change majors, many students choose departments with high future job prospects. To solve this issue, departments must develop a long-term plan for students taking the courses.
