Hi Teacher Kelly. I have some questions about grammar. First, The city council will not grant approval for construction in cases where damage to the environment will be particularly severe. But, I don't know why the 'where' is inserted to this sentence. I think "the city council will not grant approval for construction in cases damage to the environment will be particularly severe." is a correct sentence. I'm very confused. If upper sentence (which use the word 'where') is right, could you explain me? Second, The stock broker told the investors about a safe investment plan that would secure their financial future. But, I don't know why the 'about' is inserted to this sentence. I think "The stock broker told the investors a safe investment plan that would secure their financial future."is a correct sentence. Because the verb 'tell' can have two objects. I'm very confused. Third, The restaurant offers a diverse menu that features a variety of European dishes. But,I don't know why the 'a' is inserted to this sentence. I think "The restaurant offers diverse menu that features a variety of European dishes." is a correct sentence. Because, diverse menu is a 'plural noun'. So, I think "a" can't be inserted to this sentence. I'm very confused...teacher! Please explain me more detail. If upper sentence is right, would you explain me the reason?? Good night!:)
