Colombian is learning about Korea Colombia is the only country in Latin America that participated in the Korean War. In the 2012, Korea and Colombia made a FTA and they support Korea in some international stages so it is true that Colombia has an amicable relationship with Korea. In Colombia, people are trying to learn about Korea these days. They have similar number of population to Korea but they have even higher rate of murder cases, over 13 times more than Korea. An export-import bank and Inter-American Development Bank(IDB) are proceeding a joint consulting with the purposes of introducing Korean economic development strategy and carrying out a Knowledge Sharing Program(KSP), which are managed by Ministry of Strategy and Finance. In the last December 4th, a final briefing session, which was about ‘A business for improving the local police system and the public safety information system was held in a police academy in Bogota On the following day, the local police system that was made a connection with KSP received a President’s Award, which is only given for a good policy. The Commissioner General, José Riaño requested continuous cooperation, saying “The improvement of systems by adopting some advanced technology of Korea is really essential in order to forge a security environment in Colombia. The Korean style economic development is stimulating Korean economic wave in lots of countries. Some developing countries are enthusiastic about economic development plan, setting up an economic policy, adjusting finance, public security, public transportation and medical system. KSP is a way to pioneer a new market. Furthermore, Korea can also get more awareness because they receive help from the government and export-import bank.
