In my first internship experience, I worked in the consumer banking unit within the investment bank and reviewed the financial document for the loan payment. Since I was a foreigner, many clients were hesitant to share their financial records, which they regarded as sensitive. To improve the relationship with clients, I tried to show clients that I am engaged in their case passionately and empathetically. Gradually, clients opened their minds and started sharing the information. Indeed, the continuing effort of improving product knowledge and language skills helped me. However, creating a bond with the client was critical by openly sharing the information with the client. Eventually, I managed to review financial documents and helped clients receive a loan in a fast-paced manner.
