In my previous experience as a customer services associate, I took a leading role in increasing the subscription rate of the Japanese market. Due to decreasing subscription level, the company formed a committee to resolve. Since the customer service associates interact with subscribers, I took the leading role. Throughout the customer interaction, I learned that many clients unsubscribe without understanding the full subscription service. For instance, many customers were unaware that they could enjoy both English and Japanese articles through one subscription. When I brought up the necessity of advertisement, many team members were hesitant due to the cost. Therefore, I did a brief cost and benefit analysis and presented in front of members to win approval from team members, which led to an increase in subscription level. Throughout the experience, I learned that influence is the critical component of leadership in convincing others with logical, emotional, and cooperative appeals.
