Many of my friends failed in "The Exam" which is similar to SAT in US.
Sadly it takes once in a year so people who do poorly they must study one more year. For this reason, it is not easy to meet my friends. Korean educational system must be revised. Students study hard and their knowlege is fair enough. They not only miss one exam but also a year. In the near future The Exam takes twice a year but I think this is not the solution. Universitys should have their own entrance exam so that students can apply to them
