What are the risks of making financial decisions based on short-term profit?

Many people choose to make financial decisions based on short-term profit. This is because many were captivated by the fluctuation of stock price, in the worst-case scenario, the bitcoin price. In Korea, there is a new meme called “Bittu” which means that they loan from the bank to make investment. There are several risks associated by making financial risk based on short term goals. First of all, there is a high risk of loss. Short-term investments are more volatile and leave little time to recover from sudden market downturns or “missed prediction.” Then there is a concern of neglecting fundamentals. Obsessed by immediate returns may lead to ignoring the long-term value and stability of a company or asset. For example, there was a large sell-off on artificial intelligence companies because most of them had poor results. However new technologies take time to bear profit because of large upfront cost. Accordingly, I believe stock market investment must be based on long-term goals.
