What do you love the most about family gatherings?

Even if my older brothers and their families including myself live within almost one hour driving distance from my parents’ place, we rarely get together. Chuseok, the Korean Thanks Giving Day, and Seolnal, the lunar new year, are the biggest holidays in Korea. We all get together in our parents’ house on the two occasions. Above all, gathering itself of all the family members is enjoyable and a good opportunity to catch up. On Chuseok, we make rice cakes and various pan cakes all together. Seeing my parents smiling when they watch us makes me feel happy as well. Family gatherings during the holidays are stress-free for most people. However, some people think that family gathering is unpleasant. If you are still single, your relatives won’t stop asking you about when you will get married. If you are married, they will keep asking you when you will have a baby.Sometimes these situations are small, unpleasant blips in otherwise enjoyable celebrations.
