Politics, especially for South Korea, is a double-edged sword. When I watch the news full of hate speeches, corruption investigations, and bribery, I always want to ignore every political event in my country. However, I learned throughout several years that ignorant enable members of Congress to yield their power without sufficient intervention. To be frank with you, I did not cast my ballot for the previous general election because I realized the pledges were full of populism. It eventually permitted the ruling party to overtake over 70% of seats which indicates they can pass the bill without the ballot from the opposition party, which is highly dangerous for the state of democracy. This event enabled the ruling party to pass the bill, such as a stimulus package associated with free cash, eventually leading to the tax hike. Accordingly, I assume that many generations should participate in major political events, and disinterest will end in more hypocrisy and incompetence.
