I was not aware that people cannot drink on the street in the U.S. In Korea, it is not illegal to drink on the street although smoking is strictly prohibited in the public spaces and on the street. However, you can rarely see people who drink on the street in Korea because people usually go to bars or pubs to drink. In summer, people may sit on the terrace and drink outside of the building because of the hot weather. Compared with other countries, Korea is relatively lenient when it comes to drinking. Korea is one of those countries that are listed as top alcohol consuming countries. Although shops are banned from selling alcohol to teens, young students can easily buy them if they want to. Some people say that moderate drinking is good for your health, but actually it is not. Some researchers say that it could be true to only 15 percent of people who have good alcoholysis capability. If you do not belong to the 15%, even moderate drinking can be harmful for your health. Do not drink!
